Framework agreement with Vattenfall for the contingency repair of subsea cables

Vattenfall AB has awarded a framework agreement to JD-Contractor A/S for the contingency repair of export and array cables for offshore wind farms throughout Northern Europe.
The agreement covers all Vattenfall's sites in in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark and covers fault finding and repair of damaged subsea cables.
The new framework agreement will run from January 2017 for a fixed period of five years with the possibility of extending the contract.

Anthony Wort, Head of Offshore Operations (West) for Vattenfall said: "Ensuring that export and array cable problems are quickly resolved is vital to maintaining reliable operation of our wind farms. JD-Contractor have a long track record for performing these services, and this framework agreement is designed to ensure availability of qualified resources and mitigate against any possible production losses."

Rasmus Normann Andersen, CEO of JD-Contractor A/S, said: "Concluding this agreement is a great achievement for our offshore cables business and a testimony of our experience in this area. I am delighted that with this agreement we extend our relationship with a company like Vattenfall AB, an established leader in offshore wind energy."
